Kelsey Clinches Order of Merit Title |
Kelsey MacDonald (Nairn Dunbar), who won the girls' title two seasons ago, has added to her super season by securing her first Scottish Ladies' Golfing Association Order of Merit title. With just the county and divisional championship results still to count, MacDonald is out of reach at the top of the table with 2,900 points, 620 ahead of last year's winner, Louise Kenney (Pitreavie). The biggest mover is Curtis Cup player Pamela Pretswell (Bothwell Castle). The 21-year-old jumped from tenth to sixth with 1,586 points following her great victory in this month's British Women's Strokeplay Championship at Tenby. MacDonald won the Scottish Championship in May and followed up that success by reaching the final of the British Championship in June. Last month, she won her third successive Scotttish Under-21 Open Strokeplay Championship and just last week she added the Total International Junior Championship in Belgium to her haul, (although neither of these Championships were qualifying events for the Scottish Ladies' Order of Merit). Reflecting her season's consistency, Laura Murray (Alford) is in third place with 1,955 points followed by Jane Turner (!,875 points) and Mortonhall youngster, Rachael Watton (1,636 points).

Laura Murray (Alford) is in third place with 1,955 points, while Craigielaw's Jane Turner has moved into fourth place following her victory in the Riccarton Rose Bowl at Hamilton. EILIDH RETAINS TOP SPOT Eilidh Briggs (Kilmacolm) is clinging on to top spot in the Scottish Ladies' Golfing Association's Girls' Order of Merit. Rachael Watton (Mortonhall) has slipped to third place with 1,400 points, and Hannah McCook (Abernethy) is now fourth with 1,340 points. Broomieknowe's Kate McIntosh, runner-up to Lesley in the Scottish Girls' Championship at Eyemouth last month, again showed her potential by qualifying in sixth place at the St Andrews Under-23 tournament.
