Scottish Foursomes 2010

The 2010 Scottish Match Play Foursomes Semi-Finals and Final will take place at Douglas Park Golf Club on Sunday 29 August.  In only its second year, 71 teams started out in the competition in March with Ayr Dalmilling, Carnoustie Caledonia, Murrayfield and Saline the four golf clubs still in the hunt for the title. 

The draw for the semi-final is:

Carnoustie Caledonia  v  Saline
Murrayfield  v  Ayr Dalmilling

The Scottish Stroke Play Foursomes will also take place at Douglas Park on Sunday (29 August) where Eilidh and Megan Briggs will be bidding to defend the title they won at Forfar Golf Club last year.  The draw for the Foursomes Stroke Play Championship is below:

Crichton pair win at Thornhill

Crichton members Rachel Walker and Yvonne Schneider won the Silver and Bronze sections respectively at the rearranged South West Division Regional medal finals at Thornhill Golf Club today (Sunday 22 August).  Rachel had a nett 70 off a handicap of 6 while Yvonne had a nett 78 off a handicap of 17.

This was the last of the six SLGA Regional Medal Finals with Rachel, Yvonne, Patricia Hutton (Lanark) and Caroline Marshall (Newton Stewart) grabbing the last four spots at the Grand Medal Final at Crieff on 5 September.

Congratulations also to Pamela Watson (Kircudbright) who a hole in one at the 125 yard 16th hole.

Regional Medal Finals at East Kilbride

Sara Mathieson (Royal Musselburgh) was the leading Silver player and Louise Fleming (Strathaven) the leading Bronze player at the Scottish Ladies' Golfing Association Regional Medal Final at East Kilbride yesterday (Wednesday 18 August).  Both players had nett scores of 69, four under the course par.
